Lebanese Government Urged to Quit
Source: alalam.ir, 14-5-2008
BEIRUT, May 14--A senior member of Lebanese opposition party said that government of Prime Minister Fouad Saniora should step down, calling for formation of a national unity government as the key to the ongoing crisis.
Deputy Head of Lebanon's Islamic Action Front, Abdulnaser al-Jabri, told Alalam Wednesday: "To solve Lebanon's crisis, the government of Fuad Saniora should resign, a new president be elected and a government, comprising those loyal to the country be formed."
Jabri condemned the recent government decision to scrap Hizbullah telecommunication network as a means to bring activities of the resistance forces under control.
He said there was a connection between recent anti-Hizbullah decision and the US diktats.

Jabri condemned the recent government decision to scrap Hizbullah telecommunication network as a means to bring activities of the resistance forces under control.
He said there was a connection between recent anti-Hizbullah decision and the US diktats.
Saniora Cabinet made the decision following a visit by a US official to the Middle East," Jabri claimed without mentioning the name of the US official.
"Signs and evidence point to the fact that the Lebanese government's decision is not a domestic decision, rather it is a gesture in line with wishes of the enemies to harm security in the country," he added.
"Though (the ruling) March 14 coalition tries to portray clashes in Lebanon as a Sunni-Shiite conflict, the reality is it is a political tension," he said.
