Qabalan: We want Lebanon to be again the country of partnership, consensus and cooperation
Source: Daily star, 21-05-2008
Qabalan urged participants in the Doha dialogue to stay away from tension, be patient and continue discussions until the Lebanese problem is resolved.
"I also urge them to make concessions and cooperate with each other," he added. "We want Lebanon to be again the country of partnership, consensus and cooperation."
Qabalan met on Tuesday with former Minister Naji Boustani for talks on the latest developments in the country, including the detention of four former security chiefs on suspicion of involvement in the assassination of former Premier Rafik Hariri.
Boustani said a certain problem occurred in the ongoing investigation a few days ago.
"But I will not say what the problem was in a bid to give the relevant judicial authorities time to settle it," he said. "If they won't, then I will declare it before the Lebanese and international public opinions."
Meanwhile, Higher Shiite Council vice president Sheikh Abdel-Amir Qabalan received a phone call from Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri to discuss the latest developments regarding the national dialogue being held in Qatar.
