In a comment on the commissioning of Mr. Fuad Saniora to form the first government of the new presidency, the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc issued the following statement:
The Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc, through the compulsory parliamentary consultations, exhibited what it belied the required specifications of the new prime minister should be for the national unity government, and has used its constitutional right when it didn't name anyone for the post. It reminds the Lebanese people that the Doha agreement we welcomed and adhere to its terms did not include an agreement on the name of the prime minister since the mater is conditioned by constitutional mechanisms and foundations we all know. Hence, the agreement clearly stipulated that the national unity government be formed giving the opposition 11 seats, the matter which the commissioned prime minister ought to respect upon forming the government.
We, along with all the opposition forces, are quite aware of the duty of participation in the new government regardless of who the commissioned prime minister is or of the negativity which may be reached the ruling block who didn't demonstrate through their nomination of Mr. Saniora a new willingness to open a new page or to abide to common national work.
All the opposition forces are persistent despite that to effectively participate in the government to be formed in order to closely observe all issues and folders that are of significance to citizens, protect the nation's sovereignty and independence on all levels: political, security, social, economical, educational, medical, administrational...etc.
