Bomb Blast Hits US Embassy in Ukraine, No Casualties

An unknown assailant threw an explosive device into the US diplomatic mission's premises in Kiev on Thursday night, police reported, adding that no one was hurt. Police said they are treating the incident as a suspected terrorist attack.

A spokesperson for police in Kiev said: "The explosion on the territory of the US embassy in Kiev is treated as an act of terrorism."

An investigation has been launched into a suspected terrorist attack. Nobody was injured in the attack and there were no reports of damage to the building.

A police statement read: "On June 8 the capital's police got a call about an explosion on the territory of the US Embassy in the Shevchenkivskyi District of Kiev."

"The examination showed that an unknown person threw an unidentified explosive device into the territory of the embassy," the statement further read.

Police also made a statement that: "Investigators found that an unknown person threw an unidentified explosive device on the territory of the diplomatic mission."
