The member of Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Nawwar Al-Sahili said he does not think that "we will reach the stage of apologies, despite of the existence of a lack of trust that will only be restored by giving the opposition 11 ministers. We are calling for service ministries to serve people. The opposition is calling for the minimum so that we can participate in the decision-making".
The coming legislative elections will be the indicator of democracy and will identify the people's choice as to who they want to have govern them.
What was agreed upon in Doha is a red line and will be adopted in the parliament, but there is still the electoral procedure that must be agreed on. The reforms suggested in the Boutros electoral law must be discussed.
We think there are enough guarantees about the implementation of the Doha Agreement, even if some have had reservations about it.
We have not received any reply to the opposition's demand to be represented by a Sunni and a Druze minister in the government. We are demanding this because the opposition includes different factions, and because we want to emphasize our non-sectarian thoughts and the fact that the problem is political.
The naming of PM Siniora was a false step. It is not in the interests of anyone that we return to the previous status quo, which was based on obstructions. We have made compromises in order to start a solution.
