Tillerson: US Seeks Peaceful Resolution with NK, Trump Speaks for Himself
Local Editor
Rex Tillerson, US Secretary of State, has called North Korea's most recent missile launch a "provocative act", but said the US will continue to seek a peaceful resolution.
This comes as the North Korea fired three ballistic missiles into the sea between the Korean Peninsula and Japan.
"We do view it as a provocative act against the United States and our allies," Tillerson said in an interview on Fox News Sunday. "We're going to continue our peaceful pressure campaign as I have described it, working with allies, working with China as well to see if we can bring the regime in Pyongyang to the negotiating table."
Questioned about Donald Trump's controversial response to terrorism by a neo-Nazi sympathizer in Charlottesville, Virginia, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson says the president "speaks for himself."
"I don't believe anyone doubts the American people's values," Tillerson said.
"And the President's values?" anchor Chris Wallace asked.
"The President speaks for himself," Tillerson said.
The US President has been under fire due to his failure to immediately condemn the recent tragedy in Charlottesville, in which a driver plowed into demonstrators protesting against white supremacists, killing a young woman and injuring nearly 20 others.
