Free Patriotic Movement Political Officer Gebran Bassil said that if the Doha Agreement is not implemented, "the coming agreement will be much more in our favor.

"There is no solution in Lebanon other than the implementation of the Doha Agreement," Bassil said at a diner organized by the FPM in Akkar in North Lebanon.

"There is no government in Lebanon without the participation of the Change and Reform Bloc, and there is no solution without the implementation of the Doha Agreement," he added.

"No one is considering the exclusion of the FPM similar to what happened in 2005," Bassil warned. "This led to the explosion of the government and to the present situation. We must all learn from the mistakes on the past," he declared.

Bassil said there is no problem over the number of ministers or the sovereign portfolios, "for an agreement was reached in this regard."

He also noted that the criteria for the repartition of portfolios will be based on popular representation and not proportional representation.

Bassil called on the parliament and its speaker to adopt the electoral constituencies, as agreed upon in Doha, shortly after the establishment of the government.

"We hope that no one will revoke his commitment to the Doha Agreement," Bassil declared.
