MP Nicolas: Change Starts with Treasury Ministry
Source: Nowlebanon.com, 9-6-2008
MP Nabil Nicolas of the Change and Reform bloc, headed by MP Michel Aoun, said that the bloc is demanding to handle the Treasury ministry for "change starts with this ministry."
"The primary problem in Lebanon is the economic system implemented by PM Fouad Siniora since 1993 [When he was Treasury minister] and which has led to the present situation," Nicolas told the NTV.
He also noted that since MP Aoun has abdicated to the presidency, it is his right to be given a key ministry.
"We are calling for the Treasury Ministry for the economic situation in Lebanon is in a mess."
Nicolas said that the bloc is calling for the full implementation of the Doha Agreement. "Let those seeking the exclusion of the FPM from the government succeed in establishing the government," he added.
