Loyalty to the Resistance calls for full implementation of Doha agreement
Source: Irna & Nowlebanon.com, 11-6-2008
The Loyalty to the Resistance bloc emphasized the need to implement the Doha agreement and form a Lebanese cabinet as soon as possible. The cabinet, it added, should bear responsibility for managing national affairs and "promoting a climate of trust, partnership and stability." The bloc also called for intense efforts in resolving the concerns of Lebanese citizens.
After a meeting headed by MP Mohamad Raad, the bloc prioritized the adoption of the amendments to the electoral law and the division of Beirut as stipulated in the Doha agreement. It also said that the implementation of the Lebanese Central Security Council's decisions on controlling manifestations and tensions should not be delayed "for any reason or under any pretext."
On local newspaper reports that the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) was to open an office in Tel Aviv to hold contacts with "Israeli" authorities and states funding the forces, the bloc asked Prime Minister Fouad Saniora about his position on "this incomprehensible action."
The UN Security Council Resolution 1701, issued in summer of 2006, put an end to the Zionist regime's 33 day war against Lebanon and emphasized the need to end both sides' antagonist and military moves against one another, but the usurper Zionist regime has ever since then almost every day breached its articles by air, land and sea violation of Lebanon's geographical integrity.
Presently over 13 thousand military personnel from 29 countries are serving at UN's UNIFIL force in Lebanon in watershed region of Litani River along the border of the occupied Palestine with Lebanon's coastal waters.
