General Aoun blames redistribution of portfolios for government obstruction

Head of the Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun said the problem at the root of the delay in forming the national unity government had its roots in the redistribution of portfolios, and not in the names of potential ministers.
At the Baabda presidential palace, Aoun replied to a question on the renewal of Minister Elias al-Murr's term as Defense Minister by saying that he would not veto any names.
After meeting with President Michel Suleiman, Aoun reiterated his hope for the formation of a government as soon as possible, but declined to identify concrete obstacles.
"We are still in the stage of discussions," he stated.
