Bazzi confirms opposition support for army

MP Ali Bazzi of the Liberation and Development bloc confirmed his belief in expediting the national unity government formation as agreed on in Doha.

"The challenge to all political circles in Lebanon is now the practical application of all the clauses in the Doha agreement," Bazzi noted.

On the possible solutions to the obstacles and constraints in the government formation, Bazzi said there were "intensive contacts and consultations" among political parties.

Bazzi said the many economic and security challenges should be overcome, adding that the delay in government formation served the interests of no party.

"As the opposition, we strongly support the full implementation of the Lebanese Central Security Council's decisions... we have full faith in the army and internal security forces' competence as the only authorized control over security," he added.

The MP strongly condemned the security incidents in regions across Lebanon.
