Hajj Hassan accuses Siniora of lies and slander
Source: Nowlebanon.com, 24-6-2008
Prime Minister Fouad Siniora's remark that Free Patriotic Movement leader General Michel Aoun was a shield for Hizbullah, as he guarantees them broader representation, was "lies and slander," MP Hussein Hajj Hassan of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc said.
"Our solidarity with General Aoun is in his right to a legitimate parliamentary bloc, both in the number of seats and ministerial portfolios," Hajj Hassan clarified.
At a press conference in parliament on Tuesday, the MP pointed out that recent accusations against Hizbullah by a number of Tripoli deputies led to the clashes. Their accusations were "nothing but a continuation of the injustice inflicted on Hizbullah," he added.
"Unfortunately, this falls in line with the role played by a suspicious group that abuses and incites [parties] against the Resistance... in the service of America and "Israel"," Hajj Hassan said.
He called on his opponents to promote the interests of Lebanon through understanding, cooperation and speeding up the formation of a national unity government.
