MP Khalil: Opposition wants the establishment of a government as soon as possible
Source: nowlebanon.com, 02-07-2008
MP Ali Hassan Khalil of the Development and Liberation bloc headed by Speaker Nabih Berri reiterated the opposition's commitment to the implementation of the Doha Agreement.
He also told those who are trying to turn public opinion against the opposition to stop, because "the opposition has an interest in the establishment of a national-unity government as soon as possible."
He said that the prime minister must contact all factions to try to reach a solution, as "his first responsibility is to facilitate the work of the new president."
"We in the Lebanese national opposition are working for a country ruled by unity and participation," MP Khalil said.
He added that once the national-unity government is established, the opposition will focus on adopting a new electoral law and making efforts to find a solution to the economic and social situation.
