Marada leader former Minister Suleiman Franjieh called on the Lebanese army to fulfill its duty in calming the violence raging in Tripoli, not to remain still or neutral.

Franjieh also said that nominating Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea to be justice minister is the same as nominating Fatah al-Islam leader and fugitive terrorist Shaker al-Abssi to the same post.

Franjieh added that some judges would possibly resign from office if someone who was sentenced to death but had the sentence commuted became a minister.

"The majority has no right to veto any of the opposition's candidates for the government," Franjieh said after the Marada politburo meeting Wednesday.

He also hailed the prisoner swap deal between ‘Israel' and Hizbullah saying that it proves the Resistance is more effective than diplomacy. "Without the Resistance, no one would have been able to liberate the Lebanese detainees [in ‘Israeli' prisons]," Franjieh said.
