Fadlallah: Lebanese must quickly forge internal agreement
Source: nowlebanon.com, 09-07-2008
Despite apparent progress and some internal consensus, Lebanon still embodies the arena of instability in the region as it remains caught between regional and international struggles, according to Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah.
Fadlallah noted that the situation in Lebanon remained caught by international forces bargaining on implementing their projects in the region, particularly the American project.
"The Lebanese must quickly forge internal agreement and resolve many unresolved issues, namely the formation of a national unity government," he warned.
Slow progress, he added, may lead to the escalation of tension and security problems, which the Lebanese public would have to pay for through their social and living conditions.
