Fneish: No problem with Cabinet Statement if we abide to Doha agreement ~ We stand strong on resistance option to regain
Date: 09-07-2008
Member of Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc Minister Mohammad Fneish hoped that, "the efforts that have been made recently lead to a government formation after the demands that the Loyalty bloc has put forth."
In a long statement to ‘The Phalanges', otherwise knows as the Kataaeb, official website, Fneish pointed out that, "If there exists a spirit of agreement, abiding to Doha accord and the Arab League initiative, then there will be problem with the cabinet statement."
On the issue of the topic of the resistance in the cabinet statement, he stated that, "It is necessary in the presence of occupations that we hold firmly to regaining our rights and abide to the resistance option."
On the July war anniversary, Fneish congratulated, "all the Lebanese people for the achievement of freeing the hostages which is a new victory for Lebanon and the Resistance, after many Arab states failed to free their hostages from the enemy."
As to what occurred last May, Fneish clarified saying, "Nobody wanted to replace the government. Everyone has to evaluate what occurred and where mistakes were made. There was a series of events that lead to the 7th of May, namely the violation of the national covenant." He added, "Weapons were used on both sides. But our weapons are those of the Resistance community, not that of the Resistance in South Lebanon. It was used in self-defense."
On the issue of weapons, Fneish stressed that, "Hizbullah doesn't want weapons till the end of time. Yet it searches for an alternative, and it wishes that the government be the alternative. (The Resistance's) Armament is a result, not a cause, and it has proven its effectiveness because it has freed land."
Fneish added, "After liberation and the return of the hostages, there must be an agreement on the defensive strategy. The choice of capturing the ‘Israeli' soldiers in July 2006 was not a reason for the aggression...in ‘Israel's' confession."
