Sheikh Qassem calls on Lebanese leaders to shoulder responsibilities and build a strong state
Source: Nowlebanon.com, 22-7-2008
Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem on Tuesday called on all Lebanese leaders to take responsibility and build a strong state.
Qassem denounced all factors that undermined the power of the state, namely "quotas, corruption within the state, lack of oversight and accountability, the reward of perpetrators, lack of planning for projects from their onset to the end and confusion in how to manage them, as well as sectarianism and and nepotism."
He also deemed the liberation of Lebanese prisoners from "Israel" "a victory for the twenty-first century ... and the sign of "Israeli" defeat."
