Eighteen Hurt in Copycat Bulldozer Attack in Occupied al-Quds
Source: Al-Manar TV, 22-7-2008
Three weeks after the previous bulldozer operation, another tractor driver went on a killing spree in occupied Jerusalem (al-Quds) on Tuesday afternoon.
The police reported that the driver was shot dead and that at least 18 settlers were injured in the incident, one sustaining serious wounds. At around 2 pm, eyewitnesses reported seeing a bulldozer driver running wild in the city and overturning cars.
A police investigation revealed that the driver came from a construction site near the Yemin Moshe neighborhood and hit two vehicles. An "Israeli" settler shot him to death, but the bulldozer continued driving. "Israeli" Border Guard officers shot at the driver and killed him.
Palestinian sources in occupied Jerusalem reported that the man who carried out the bulldozer operation was Ghasan Abu-Tir, 22, of the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Umm Tuba. His relative, Hamas lawmaker Muhammad Abu-Tir, is jailed in "Israeli" prisons.
At the beginning of the month, three settlers were killed when an east Jerusalem man travelling on a bulldozer, crashed into cars and buses in central occupied Jerusalem.
