MP Raad: We would continue to pursue a strategy of openness toward different parties in Lebanon in order to achieve stab
Source: Nowlebanon.com, 19-8-2008
After a meeting with Former President Emile Lahoud on Tuesday, the leader of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Mohammad Raad said that his party would continue to pursue a strategy of openness and inclusion toward "different parties and factions in Lebanon in order to achieve stability, even if it aggravates some."
Raad responded to criticisms of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's call for increasing the number of representatives at the national dialogue, and said "this is in the hands of President Michel Sleiman."
"We still have to implement the third article of the Doha agreement, which concerns electoral law, before we move on to the national dialogue," Raad said.
"I think it is no one's interest to delay the electoral law. Speaker of the House Nabih Berri is committed to its quick implementation and the Administration and Justice Committee in parliament has almost finished the basic principles of the draft."
