Southern Leaders of Amal and Hizbullah call for openness in the coming national dialogue
Source: Nowlebanon.com, 20-8-2008
The leaders of the Amal Movement and Hizbullah in southern Lebanon issued a press release on Wednesday that called for openness in the coming national dialogue.
"The national dialogue must include all the points of dispute for the sake of reconciliation and partnership in the future," the statement read.
The release also said that national defense strategy was among the most pressing issues to be discussed in the dialogue.
The release was dismissive toward criticisms of the Hizbullah-Salafist Memorandum of Understanding, but had kind words for President Suleiman's recent visit to Damascus, calling on all political parties to welcome the "correction of relations between Lebanon and Syria."
