Sheikh Qassem: Resistance is the Only Solution

Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem stressed that all the pressure and threats "won't serve in taking one iota of our land." Speaking at a reception, Sheikh Qassem added that "no matter how high the ‘Israelis' scream, be it for electoral purposes or any other reason, it's the battlefield that would settle any combat when it takes place."

His eminence reminded that the Islamic Resistance enjoys substantial experience in defeating the Zionist entity. "The Resistance now is even stronger, more developed and more capable" he stressed, adding that "defense is a duty, not only a right."

Sheikh Qassem tackled US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice tour in the region in a bid to "achieve peace with Israel by the end of the year." His eminence highlighted that such statements were mere "delusions as there is no place for peace alongside daily ‘Israeli' crimes against the Palestinian people."

"Has anyone in the world heard a logical ‘Israeli' speech that explains the existence of Israel's right?," Sheikh Kassem wondered, noting that all statements by ‘Israeli' leaders are aggressive and intimidating. "Such statements aim at inducing the insolents, on the top of whom is the US, to bombard and occupy lands," his eminence said.

On the recent threats made by ‘Israeli' Prime Minister Ehud Olmert against Lebanon, Sheikh Kassem found odd the silence of the international community. "Why doesn't the UN Security Council move yet to deter ‘Israel', regardless of the weight of this threat."

"We always hear them inciting against the peaceful Iranian nuclear program, threatening Iran with attacks, but we don't hear any position neither from the UNSC nor from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) against ‘Israel's' nuclear arsenal, taking into consideration the dangers of these arms on the region and the world," his eminence emphasized.

The Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General said that it has been proven that there was no solution other than Resistance. "The resistance that liberated and is still liberating, stood in the way of the Zionist scheme, protected us from assaults and made us proud," his eminence stressed.

"'Israel' did not withdraw from most of Lebanon in 2000 in compliance with the 20-year-old UNSC resolution 425, but under the strikes of the resistance. ‘Israel' was not defeated in 2006 through international positions, but by the resistance. Operation Al-Redwan did not succeed in liberating prisoners, detainees and remains of martyrs because of the diplomatic activity in this regard, but because of the steadfastness of the resistance and its strength."

Sheikh Qassem concluded by noting that all Arabs and Muslims have the responsibility of confronting occupation and aggression. "All powers, regardless of their political and intellectual trends have the responsibility of giving the issue of confronting Israel on top of their priorities.
This way victories will be fulfilled one after the other and all our problems will be solved, not only the problem of the occupation."
