Speaking at the Inter-Disciplinary Center outside Tel Aviv, ‘Israeli’ Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi laid out his perception of the challenges facing the Zionist entity from ‘Iran and its proxies’, concentrating on the northern frontier.

"The range and precision of missiles have improved," Kochavi said. "Iran-backed Hezbollah is trying to procure precision missiles in Lebanon and we are investing efforts in blocking them. We are operating overtly and under the radar," he claimed and warned that the actions by the ‘Israeli’ military increase the risk of an all-out war.

The Zionist media echoed the impact of Kochavi’s words on the ‘Israeli’ public.

To begin with, Yossi Yehoshua wrote for Ynet:

In his speech, the military chief spoke of the need for the ‘Israeli’ public to understand that the next war with Lebanon will not be short, and there's a high likelihood for civilian casualties.

Kochavi added that the ‘Israelis’ resilience will be needed and the military will be relying on it.

The dilemma standing before him is how to talk about the possibility of 1,500 rockets per day, fired at ‘Israel’, without bolstering the enemy's resolve and weakening that of civilians, Yehoshua said.

For his part, Gal Perl Finkel said it was an attempt to convey that in the next conflict the ‘Israeli’ front will come under intense fire and the army will suffer great losses

Meanwhile, ‘Israel’ Harel wrote for Haaretz: In the midst of this festive Hanukkah, Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi hit us over the head with a hammer of reality.

In view of the current risks, he said, we will witness no miracle; the battle isn’t over and we may have to carry the torch again, as we did before.

Kochavi also said: Most of those involved in the next battle – and the casualties, the likes of which we haven’t known – will be us, the civilians.

Had he wanted to be more precise, Harel said, he would have noted: In fact, certainly in the south, this has been the situation for the last two decades. And if this is intolerable, we can easily imagine what the future holds when the opening blow, for which Iran and Hezbollah, in the main, are preparing, will involve hundreds and maybe thousands of missiles landing on population centers, infrastructure and military bases.
