Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki has ruled out the possibility of US or ‘Israeli' military action against his country.

"Mr. Bush, by insisting on his unilateral policies and mistaken policies and actions, has created serious problems for the US around the world and more specifically in our region. Who knows?
Maybe he also would have like to impose yet another failed misadventure or war on our part of the world and to fuel that war with taxpayer money," Mottaki said in interview with the Chicago Tribune, published on Friday.

"The same thing can be said for his failed set of policies for seven years now in Afghanistan and for six years now in Iraq. The current conditions do not allow Mr. Bush to engage in another misadventure. The US is not in a position to engage in a new adventure," he added.

"The ‘Israelis' are really no longer in play. ...They are still suffering from the reverberations or aftershocks of the 33-day war in Lebanon [in 2006], both inside that regime, domestically speaking, and outside," Iran's top diplomat said.

Mottaki also pointed to Iran's nuclear program and stressed that Tehran is committed to continue its nuclear enrichment activities.

The minister noted that foreign countries have not honored their energy contracts with Iran over the past decades and said, "We arrived at the conclusion that when it comes to nuclear fuel self-sufficiency is a fundamental need."
