Deputy Commander of the Iranian police, General Ghasem Rezai said colonial countries led by the US, with their illegitimate presence in the region, have created deplorable situations for people of Afghanistan.

General Rezai made the remarks on Monday when visiting Iran's south-eastern borders and Milak border terminal.

In reference to the recent developments in Afghanistan, he said absolute security is prevailing along Iran's eastern borders.

The law enforcement forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran are guarding borders with full alert and will not allow the least insecurity in the country's border areas thanks to the appropriate infrastructures created in the southern border regions in the past years to protect Iranian borders.

In his visit, General Rezai noted that the result of the illegitimate US presence in Afghanistan is nothing less than destruction and insecurity.

He said “today the Afghan people need humanitarian assistance from world countries so the best help is to allow people to form a popular government based on their own wishes and not to meddle in the internal affairs of the country.”

Pointing to the situation in Afghanistan, General Rezai added that the colonial governments led by the criminal US have taken peace away from the region's peoples for more than 40 years and imposed such a deplorable situation on the Muslim people of Afghanistan.

Due to the recent developments in Afghanistan, there are some limitations in Mahiroud border terminal and Dogharoon-Islam Qala border, the deputy police chief said, while there are no security issues in the Milak border terminal and cars and goods have the same old traffic based on border protocols.
