An "Israeli" occupation officer was killed and another three soldiers were injured near the Kissufim crossing on Thursday.
Major Roee Rosner, 27, a company commander with the Kfir Brigade, was killed when an "Israeli" tank force entered the area of the former Netzarim settlement and was apparently bombarded with anti-tank missiles. Haaretz quoted military sources as saying that this was the first time Hamas fighters have used such weapons since "Israel" began its offensive in the Gaza Strip.
"Israeli" occupation troops continued to battle Gaza people on Thursday, with the assistance of the "Israel" Air Force. A number of "Israeli" soldiers were wounded during the "Israeli" operation in Gaza late Thursday morning.
The "Israeli" military has yet to determine whether the force was targeted by Hamas resistance movement, or hit by other Palestinian fire.
The death brought to eight the number of "Israeli" occupation officers and soldiers killed since the start of the offensive on Gaza on December 27.
