Hamas official: The battlefield, not UNSCRs, decides Gaza fate

Abu Obeida, a spokesman for the armed wing of Hamas, said that "no Hamas resistance men have fallen in the "Israeli" offensive on Beit Lahya, in which eight "Israeli" soldiers were killed."

In an interview with Al-Jazeera on Friday, Abu Obeida said that "Hamas still a lot of surprises to use in confronting the occupation forces." He added that the "resistance deals with facts in the battlefield and not with what the UNSC issues."

The Hamas official was referring to UNSCR 1860, which calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and was adopted by the UN Security Council adopted on Thursday.
