Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem renewed support for the Palestinian Resistance, warning that ending the resistance in Gaza meant ending the Palestinian cause. His eminence called on Arabs to unite against the Zionist enemy and stop interfering and submitting proposals that harm the Palestinian cause.

Speaking during a religious ceremony, Sheikh Qassem wished the Arabs had stood united for once on two issues: a ceasefire in Gaza and the opening of all border crossings into Gaza. His eminence added that had the Arabs insisted on these two issues, "Israel" would have obeyed and so would the "big states."

Sheikh Qassem said, however, that "Israeli" Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni said that some Arabs were begging her to continue the aggression on Gaza and destroy Hamas because they wanted to change the formula in Palestine and because would they accept any solution that ended the Palestinian cause. "Let them know that all the Arab interests will be affected by the Palestinian solution. If the resistance remains powerful and wins, the Arabs will win. If it loses, all the Arabs would lose," his eminence said.

Sheikh Qassem also said that the UNSCR 1860 was an escape from responsibilities and it gave "Israel" a chance to further attack the Palestinians. "What is this resolution that states no mechanism and does not pressure ‘Israel'? It is only a document that calls for an immediate ceasefire," his eminence said.

Sheikh Qassem added that what was worse was that the resolution included a number of demands which, if connected with a ceasefire, would give "Israel", in the end, everything it wants.
