Hamas kills "Israeli" officer, wounds 11

Fighters of the Palestinian Hamas say they have killed another "Israeli" officer and have wounded eleven troops in recent attacks.
According to Hamas-run television station Al Aqsa, "Israel" has confirmed that its forces have suffered heavy casualties in clashes with resistance fighters on Monday.
The reported new casualties come after heavy street fighting in Gaza City.
 
The nearly three-week-old "Israeli" offensive into the Gaza Strip has so far claimed more than 940 Palestinian lives and has wounded more than 4,400.
The "Israeli" incursion into the besieged Gaza Strip, which began on December 27, has claimed more than 940 Palestinians lives and has wounded more than 4,400 so far.

According to Hamas, at least thirty four "Israeli" soldiers have been killed and 91 others wounded in the attack. Tel Aviv, however, has put the number of its dead at 12.
"Israel" has been targeting the densely-populated Gaza Strip with phosphorous bombs in direct violation of the Geneva Treaty of 1980.
