Berri: "Israel" Wants to End Dream of Palestinian State

Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri said that "Israel" made use of Palestinian, Arab and Muslim splits to launch its attack on Gaza, regretting that "Israel" has actually taken advantage of the Palestinian and Arab division to carry out its deadliest offensive against the Palestinians.
Addressing participants of the Asian Parliaments Union conference in Turkey to support Gaza, Berri warned that the Zionist entity wants to finish off the dream of the Palestinian People to create their own state.

"This war in Gaza is a repetition of the 2006 July War, which ended in the strategic loss of"Israel" and its army," Berri stressed. "Little by little, "Israel's" brutality will be revealed," he announced, calling on everybody to hail the Resistance's heroism in response to all accusations against it.

"This expanding war targeting the Gaza Strip is not because of the Palestinian rockets on the settlements, which were built by force on Palestinian territory," Berri reiterated, recalling that "the firm blockade was the beginning of this war."

"This war targets the spirit of resistance and determination," he noted, adding that it also aims "to wipe out the Palestinian identity and implement the permanent settlement, through approving the concept of an alternative nation."

""Israel" does not want the Palestinians to live in a democratic country," Berri concluded, calling the Arab and Islamic Summits to tell the world that the Arabs are united. "Trust me, by doing this, 90 % of the battle would end and only 10% would remain," he said.
