Former Prime Minister Omar Karami said that "‘Israel' aimed at breaking the [Palestinian] resistance and put an end to launching rockets on the ‘Israeli' cities."
Karami spoke on Monday following a meeting with a joint delegation from Hamas and the Jamaa Islamiya in Lebanon.
"Our experience with the [UN] Security Council and the United Nations from 1948 to the present proves that they are not reliable because ‘Israel' has not once abided by their resolutions," he said, adding that he found it strange that the Arab League was still in operation because it had yet to play any significant role.
Responding to a question on the possibility of another conflict with "Israel" in Lebanon, he said, "There are no guarantees when it comes to ‘Israel' and [‘Israeli' chief of the general staff Brigadier General Gabi] Ashkenazi was crystal clear."
"The resistance in Lebanon is ready, but personally I think that ‘Israel' won't be able to launch another new aggression after the Gaza incidents."
