Abu Marzouq: Arabs must unify on Palestinian issue

Deputy Head of Hamas' political office Moussa Abu Marzouq said that "Arab [countries] differ regarding the Palestinian cause, whereas we ask the Arabs to unify their ranks."
Abu Marzouq told the Al-Jazeera on Thursday that asking for a unified Arab stance on the Palestinian issue "doesn't diminish the central Egyptian role in the region."

"Egypt was the party that demanded Turkish intervention in the efforts to resolve the situation in Gaza. The Egypt Foreign Minister's visit to Turkey helped facilitate these efforts."
Abu Marzouq added that "the situation that reigned in Gaza before the ‘Israeli' aggression hampered the dialogue in Cairo. We have to secure a healthy atmosphere for any [future] dialogue so that they can yield results which can please the Palestinian people."
