Murr arrives in Damascus, meets with Assad

Defense Minister Elias al-Murr arrived Wednesday in Damascus, where he was received by his Syrian counterpart Hassan Turkmani and a delegation of military representatives.
Murr then went to the headquarters of the Syrian Defense Ministry, where he met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and discussed ways to improve cooperation between the two countries.
A private meeting was also held between Murr and Turkmani, followed by a larger one that included members of both countries' delegations, and which centered on issues such as monitoring the borders, combating terrorism and Palestinian weapons outside official refugee camps in Lebanon.
