Minister of Industry Ghazi Zeaiter told NBN television on Friday that no one could fool the people, rejecting claims that the opposition was raising the Council for South budget to ensure political objectives in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

He explained, "Hizbullah and Amal Movement do not need to use these means in South Lebanon to hold the elections unlike other parties, who revert to bribing votes."
Zeaiter supported all efforts to reach a settlement over the Council for South budget, on the condition that the people's rights were guaranteed.

He said the Council for South budget was already defined and was pending to be ratified.
"I remind everyone that we are 11 ministers within the cabinet; we do not want to obstruct the voting procedures, but we have the right to vote," he concluded.
