Source: As-Safir, 31-1-2009
Media and Telecommunications Commission head MP Hassan Fadlallah told As-Safir newspaper on Saturday that the freedom of the Lebanese people was being targeted and their privacy was coming under attack.
He added that all politicians, officials and journalists might have been tracked, whether through the monitoring of their phone calls or by the confiscation of their statements by official security parties in violation of the law.
He called on the parliament and the commission to confront the wiretapping issue and stop violations of people's freedom.
