Retaliatory rocket hits "Israel"

A Qassam rocket strikes "Israel's" western Negev after "Israeli" soldiers killed a Palestinian fighter in southern Gaza Strip earlier Thursday.
The Qassam rocket fired from northern Gaza Friday morning landed in Eshkol region, but caused no injuries or damage, according to Yediot Aharonot.
The incident came after "Israeli" soldiers shot dead a Palestinian fighter near Kibbutz Ein Hashlosha Thursday afternoon. Troops from the Golani infantry brigade crossed the border and killed the fighter who they claimed was approaching the border with a grenade at his hand.
The military claimed that the grenade carried by the fighter had caused his death.
"Israel" launched a 23-day unilateral war against the Gaza Strip in December, killing almost 1,400 people in the region. The Palestinian Center for Human Rights said earlier that more than half of the victims were civilians.
