Berri: Compensation for those affected by July War was a right and could not be bargained away
07-02-2009
Speaker Nabih Berri said that compensation for those affected by the 2006 July War was a right and could not be bargained away.
During a meeting with the heads of the southern municipalities on Saturday, Berri added that it was unacceptable to give the impression that the Council for South was only working according to religious standards in one area. He emphasized that this issue should be considered a national, humanitarian and ethical responsibility toward those who paid the price for "Israel's" aggression.
