Gaza: "Israeli" artillery fire kills Palestinian, warplanes attack South

"Israeli" artillery fire killed one Palestinian in the northern Hamas-run Gaza Strip on Monday, medics said.
Khaled al-Kafarneh was killed when an artillery shell hit his house in Beit Lahiya, they said.
The "Israeli" army said it was checking into the reports.

"Israeli" warplanes also carried out air strikes South Gaza, causing damage but no injuries, after militants fired two rockets into "Israel" on Sunday.
The violence came as Egypt continued efforts to broker a lasting truce in the coastal strip to replace the shaky mutual ceasefires called by "Israel" and Hamas on January 18 after "Israeli's" 22-day offensive on Hamas' stronghold.
