Raad: Pro-Resistance Majority Will Triumph in Elections
9-2-2009
The head of the Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc MP Mohammad Raad accused on Monday the loyalty bloc of seeking to obstruct the parliamentary elections' climate through fabricating political disputes and assailing the national army.
Speaking during a ceremony held in Ouzai in Beirut's southern suburb, MP Raad said he was confident that the forthcoming parliamentary elections will result in the triumph of a pro-Resistance majority.
The Hizbullah MP noted that the proposals submitted by the "other party" regarding the country's defense strategy actually don't achieve the goal of protecting and safeguarding Lebanon. "Their proposals call for waiting for the success of diplomacy and agreement by major powers to regain our land in line with a thorough settlement in the region," Raad added.
The Hizbullah MP stressed that the upcoming elections should be a "chance for correcting options adopted by others." He also criticized the "frenzy campaign" targeting the head of the Change and Reform parliamentary bloc MP Michel Aoun.
