Hobballah: Upcoming elections will not determine Lebanon΄s destiny
15-02-2009
Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Hassan Hobballah said that the upcoming parliamentary elections could not determine the country's destiny. "Only the people's will, incorporated in protecting the Resistance and peace, can determine the nation's destiny," he said.
In a statement released on Sunday, Hobballah said that there were two different political projects to choose from during the elections. The opposition's project intended to protect "the Resistance, peace, social development and building a potent state," he said. The second project, he added, was devastating, and intended to create disputes and new conflicts.
He called for wisdom and unity to protect Lebanon. "No one can be a patriot, if he follows those outside," he said. Hobballah also called on the Lebanese to refrain from rhetoric that instigated sectarianism.
