Franjieh: Citizens will hear rumors and face "temptations" before elections
Marada Movement leader Suleiman Franjieh said that those who exhibited stable stances would win in the upcoming parliamentary elections, but those who shift their positions would lose.
"The most important thing we have gained is the respect of the people, our opponents and allies. Any politician who deals with his rivals and allies respectfully, the people will respect him in return. But the problem lies in that some politicians are businessmen, while others only attempt to increase their authorities," he said.
At a dinner in Zgharta, Franjieh called for voting for competent people who would restore Zgharta's historic role in Lebanon.
He added, "The elections are close and you will hear several rumors and face temptations. But I count on you, not on anyone else, not even a friend or an ally, [whether] Hizbullah or Syria. My allies can assist me on the regional [level], but they are incapable of doing so in these elections."
Franjieh denied any changes in his electoral agenda and called on the people to strike out his name on the ballot and not any other candidate if they wished to.
