Development and Liberation bloc MP Ali Hassan Khalil said that the people who had suffered from the state's absence for more than two and a half years would not remain silent and called on them to express their rejection of unfair policies.

In a press conference at Khiam on Sunday, Khalil criticized Prime Minister Fouad Siniora's behavior regarding the issue of the Council for South. After Siniora was faced with facts, he said, which completely contradicted his statement that the budget for the South would create a deficit in the state's budget and after he was faced with the Saudi grant and the Higher Relief Commission issues, Siniora started exerting pressure on the Council for South budget.

Khalil stressed the need to maintain partnership. "Regardless of our position, whether in the majority or the opposition, majority or minority, we will keep calling for national unity cabinets after the elections, for they reflect the people's will, especially in fateful choices," he said.
