Sheikh Qaouk: Issue of delaying compensation to the affected & blocking Council of the South is politically motivated
Hizbullah Official in South Lebanon, Sheikh Nabil Qaouk confirmed that "we as the opposition have surpassed the difficult, what remains ahead now is the simpler and easier, today we are on the road to greater political victories, while the other team is heading for losing their majority." He said, "The strategic alliance between Hizbullah, Amal and the Free Patriotic Movement is a pillar of strength for the salvation of the nation and all of the opposition's (candidature) lists."
He said "when the prime minister resorts to delaying compensation payments to those affected in war, and impedes the release of the Council of the South budget, he aims to curb the opposition, believing this could weaken the opposition in the elections" adding that, "delays and impediments are not a financial issue but politically motivated, by the same motivations that made that group deny the victory of the resistance in 2006."
He concluded saying "it is our right not to allow the return of any logic or approach that cancels out any other Lebanese group. When we talk about the other parties' weapon in the elections, we mean election money that gushes from known capitals of known objectives, but alas, all the money being spent now will only bring them disappointment, because the people of the resistance never surrender to blackmail or to sell their votes in the ‘electoral markets'."
