Yakan warns against plans to "explode situation" before elections

After meeting with Interior Minister Ziad Baroud on Saturday, Islamic Labor Front leader Fathi Yakan warned against plans to "explode the situation" in Lebanon before the upcoming parliamentary elections.

"If the security situation is not stabilized now, then it cannot be achieved on June 7," he added.

He said he hoped the elections would be held in one day to safeguard the electoral process and emphasized the importance of ratifying the law that defined the ceiling of each candidate's expenditure.
