The Chairman of the Information and Communications Committee, Member of Loyalty to the Resistance bloc, MP Hassan Fadlallah said "the Committee discussed compensation for media organizations that were affected by the July 2006 aggression. An agreement has been reached for working on a law proposal to be submitted to the House of Representatives, to include compensation to these institutions in accordance with the amounts that have been calculated."

Today, after the Committee's meeting in parliament he said, "This is a fundamental issue and deserves following-up in order to have the rights reach the media outlets that were affected by the "Israeli" aggression. In turn, the Committee agreed on the need to separate between compensation for the Audio-visual media institutions and the other commercial, industrial, agricultural firms, etc., which also have the full right to obtain compensation, but due to the particularity enjoyed by the media, the role it plays and the urgent needs of these media such as financial needs, it is therefore necessary in this case not to link the media compensation file to all other compensation files, especially since it is a fractional subject that does not need very large amounts from the Lebanese state."
