Ammar: Lebanon needs to produce a political class that builds a homeland immune to "Israeli" threats
09-03-2009
Loyalty to the Resistance bloc Member, MP Ali Ammar, described the coming parliamentary elections as important and a significant pivotal point, in giving the country a safe passage. He criticized those who consider the elections fateful and decisive saying "they are neither fateful nor decisive as some project."
At a social political meeting in the Ouzai area, Ammar saw that Lebanon, at the level of its exacerbating political, economic, social and developmental crisis, needs all concerted efforts to produce a new political class through the due elections, capable of building together a homeland that is immune to "Israel's" threats and dangers.
Ammar called for attention to be paid to the deprivation that renders the nation's immunity vulnerable "from the far reaches of Akar to the far reaches of the south, to the most disadvantaged areas in the Bekaa Valley, burdened by deprivation since the Ottoman era."
Ammar affirmed that "the description of the coming parliamentary elections as fateful is the same as saying that the country is either mine or yours, with no meeting point within it!" He further stressed that "the country is big enough for you, me and everyone", confirming that "should we win the majority, we are going to extend a hand for partnership."
