The Deputy Secretary General of Hizbullah Sheikh Naim Qassem said that "inter-Arab or inter-Palestinian reconciliations would inevitably reflect positively on stability in Lebanon and help fortify the internal situation in the face of external challenges that want to undermine its unity and civil peace."

During a meeting of the follow-up committee with parties, forces and patriotic Lebanese personalities at the headquarters of the "Coalition of Muslim Scholars" in Beirut His Eminence stressed "the necessity to promote internal factors of national unity so as to ensure a calm environment for internal accord and agreement, to fortify the victory achieved by the resistance against the enemy in Gaza, to protect it and consider it a starting point for achieving even more victories, distant from making concessions on the national Palestinian rights front."

He stressed that "the Palestinian national unity is a real safety valve for facing the arrogance of the enemy, who is now weaker as far as the Palestinian people are concerned. They have consolidated their victory against the enemy, by their legendary steadfastness against the Zionist military machine, which failed to undermine their will to liberate their land, or to restore their rights no matter how high the sacrifices."

The gathering renewed its condemnation of "the government's continued disregard to the miserable social and economic reality, for not taking any action towards reducing the prices of goods and foodstuffs in the light of its global drop."
