Hizbullah Shoura (Consultative) Council member Sheikh Mohammad Yazbek said: "The betting on any other country but Lebanon's will and resolve is doomed to failure."

His eminence asked" "Is it the time for the Lebanese to unite and explore all what are happening around in the region before the parliamentary elections? Why do not we have a national unity and a betting on the will and dignity embodied by the Lebanese people against the "Israeli" enemy?"

During a eulogy on Saturday, Yazbek called for holding democratic elections adding "no matter who wins we should safeguard the co-existence which preserves us all, so that Lebanon can maintain its position as an example of co-existence among different sects and religions."

He emphasized the importance of "exerting efforts for the sake of the nation, its interests and independence. This is our message for all the Lebanese."

Sheikh Yazbek welcomed the European and US openness toward Syria, inter-Arab reconciliations and Britain's recent decision to engage in greater openness with Hizbullah.

"Those (parties) are working to mend what [former US President George W] Bush had ruined. He was the leader of terrorism, murder and ruin in the world," Yazbek said.
