Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah on Friday warned against the danger corruption posed in the run-up to the June 7 parliamentary elections.
Fadlallah said "the corruption of leaders" had filtered down to their followers, who had "entered the auction market for the price of their vote for this candidate or that."

During Friday prayers, Fadlallah said the next elected parliament would likely "embrace many of those can cast votes on legislation and positions, but have no political, legal or cultural experience."
Fadlallah said Lebanon's failure to agree on a formal electoral law had resulted in the failure to confirm Lebanon's national unity and coexistence.

Lebanon's tragedy, Fadlallah said, was that local leaders were "the adult story tellers, and the youth laugh and applaud them."
