Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem received former MP Faisal Al-Daoud. The two deliberated on general issues as well as the topic of the upcoming elections.

After the meeting Mr. Daoud declared, "The meeting was meant to discuss the state of affairs as well as local, regional, and international issues, and the developments that have occurred in Lebanon."

Daoud noted that he and Sheikh Naim Qassem "discussed the resistance project starting from Iran, passing through Syria, and the firmness of that project in the face of other schemes."

On the topic of the new attitude the United States has displayed towards Iran, Daoud commented that it is simply "proof that Iran is an active prime state as is Syria...and we hope that these developments reflect on Lebanon in the form of stability during the fiery electoral mood."

"We believe that the electoral phase is crucial to separate between two paths: between the American path and the national patriotic one. This phase is one of the most sensitive ones in Lebanon's history whereby Lebanon's future will be decided on," Daoud added.
