Florida Republican Congressman Randy Fine has come under heavy criticism after publicly calling for the nuclear annihilation of Gaza, comparing the situation to the US atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II.

Speaking on Fox News on Thursday, Fine argued that just as the bombings forced Japan into an “unconditional surrender,” the same approach should be taken in Gaza. “We nuked the Japanese twice in order to get an unconditional surrender. That needs to be the same here,” he said.

The remarks have been widely condemned, particularly by the Council on American-Islamic Relations [CAIR], the country’s largest Muslim civil rights group. CAIR denounced Fine’s comments as "explicit incitement to violence" and urged both Republican and Democratic leadership to remove him from all congressional committees and caucuses.

CAIR emphasized that Fine’s statement is not only “genocidal” but also places millions at risk by advocating for nuclear extermination against more than two million Palestinians—half of whom are children. The group described his rhetoric as “violently anti-Muslim, anti-American, and anti-Palestinian,” and warned that such statements dangerously escalate an already catastrophic situation.

“Let’s be clear: Randy Fine is not just a dangerous bigot,” said CAIR Government Affairs Director Robert S. McCaw. “He is a sitting member of Congress openly fantasizing about the nuclear genocidal extermination of Palestinians. His statements are more in line with the genocidal maniacs of the ‘Israeli’ Knesset than with any vision of American leadership.”

McCaw added that Fine’s comments undermine the Trump administration’s previously stated efforts to pursue peace and ceasefire in the region. “Congress must now decide whether it will uphold its ethical responsibilities or stand by while one of its own openly calls for mass murder,” he said. “Silence in the face of genocide is complicity. There must be consequences.”

Meanwhile, the genocidal war led by the “Israeli” entity in Gaza continues unabated. On Thursday alone, nearly 110 Palestinians were murdered by “Israeli” forces.

To date, more than 53,760 Palestinians—most of them women and children—have been martyred, with nearly 122,200 others injured. Gaza’s authorities report that tens of thousands more remain buried under the rubble, many with bodies disintegrated beyond recognition. Over 16,500 of the dead are children.
